Description
Verve Records V-8741 VG/VG++ MEGA-RARE... US original yellow label "MONO" PROMO album. Near impossible to find in MONO, and the vinyl is in STUNNING NEAR MINT condition. In January 1967, while Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention were under contract with Verve Records as recording artists, Frank was approached by Capital Records to write an orchestral composition. Frank wrote the work and conducted the orchestra. It was entitled Lumpy Gravy, and was recorded partly in NYC and part in LA at Capital Records. The matter was not resolved until 1968 when Verve Records acquired the recordings from Capital and released the album. But being 1968, very few MONO albums were being pressed at this time. This is the PROMO pressing mixed in glorious MONO!!!! Gatefold cover has a solid spine, some corner wear, and both front and back ringwear. The vinyl is STUNNING NEAR MINT, super shiny...looks unplayed!!! The yellow PROMO labels have small ink writings on both sides. Check my other VERY RARE Frank Zappa albums on eBay this week.

***PLEASE NOTE*** I clean all my records with a NITTY GRITTY Professional Record cleaning machine if necessary. I pack records carefully. Records are placed outside of the album cover in a record sleeve. Albums are bubbled wrapped for safety and mailed in a strong cardboard record mailer box!!!
