After releasing a 'mother lode of Mothers' (of Invention) classics, by 1969 leader Frank Zappa was ready to breakthrough other musical barriers that were still holding popular music in a conservative headlock. Being one if not the first album to be recorded using 16 tracks (twice the number being used at the time on both sides of the Atlantic), Hot Rats became a leading edge in both modern recording technology and the evolution of jazz/rock- fusion.

Hot Rats is mostly instrumental and features six original compositions; three loose jam pieces, the remainder being tight ensemble arrangements. Some of the finest players around come together in varying combinations, all-the-while showcasing FZ's guitar virtuosity. Among others, Lowell George of Little Feat-fame lends guitar, jazz violinists extraordinaire Don 'Sugarcane' Harris and Jean-Luc Ponty plus fellow Mother Ian Underwood's keyboard and woodwind work, complete the leader's advanced vision. Last but not least, the legendary Captain Beefheart brings his unique pipes to the infamous Willie The Pimp. Soon to become a concert staple and fan favorite thereafter, Peaches En Regalia is truly a modern jazz standard, eventually covered by the likes of Phish and The Dixie Dregs. Also included are Son of Mr. Green Genes, Little Umbrellas, The Gumbo Variations and It Must Be A Camel.

Mastered and cut directly from the original analog master tape by Bernie Grundman under the supervision of Gail Zappa.

International packages are sent via USPS First Class International . Tracking is included on all shipments except international packages.

• How do I get the International shipping discount?
  When you are done purchasing all the items you'd like, wait for us to send the invoice through E-Bay with the combined shipping/handling total.
  
  
  
• Can I pick my item up personally?
  Unfortunately, we can't accomodate local pickups as we are an internet-based store only.
  
  
  
• How long before my order ships?
  Orders usually ship within 2-7 business days. Please understand that it is impossible to keep all 100,000+ items (and multiple copies of those items) in stock at all times. Sometimes an order gets caught while re-supplying. Once an order is in the hands of the USPS, it can take another 2-14 days.
  
  
  
• Why hasn't my item been shipped yet?
  Please be patient. It is somewhere in our delivery path. Sometimes our emails get screened out. The bottom line is that 90% of all orders arrive within 10 days and 99% arrive within 3 weeks.
  
  
  
• Will I be able to track my shipment?
  Yes, tracking is included with all shipments, except international orders (This is an option- please e-mail for pricing).

• How do you handle refunds and credits?
  For situations in which a credit is in order, we will refund your Paypal account or credit card, minus shipping charges.
  
  
  
• You haven't emailed me my total! How do I pay?
  Our system will automatically send an E-Bay invoice within 24 hours of the end of auction.
  
  
  
• Can I return my product?
  Yes, if your product is defective, we will send a replacement as long as it is sent back within 30 days of purchase.
  
  
  
• What if my order is not complete when it arrives?
  Check your shipping confirmation e-mail to make sure the items weren't sent in multiple shipments. If they weren't, contact us and we we'll take care of it.
  
  
  
• What if one of my items is not available (out of print/stock)?
  Record companies take LP's cd's, and dvd's in and out of circulation all the time, without notice, to generate future demand. We have no control over this and it affects all media sellers. Therefore, we will refund the item(s) and the shipping charges and send the rest of your shipment.
