Frank Zappa Hot Rats LP with gatefold cover
Features Captain Beefheart's 'Willie The Pimp'
The UK label is pressed smooth Reprise Records label which is in an excellent condition and is part yellow (not tan), part green, and with the steamboat on a cream background.
Catalogue no's. RSLP6356 A1 and B1
The cover is an unlaminated 'Cal Schenkel' printed gatefold cover with 12 inside images (mostly of Frank Zappa and with band). The inside is good to excellent - apart from a black mark running 1.5cm in from the top and slightly at the bottom - not across faces! Same also on outside. On Monday 29th Nov I'll update the image so you can see what I mean - its not bad. Age or printing process - unsure.
The vinyl is in a good to average condition apart from a 7.7cm diagonal scratch on side 2 and has been in my husband's care from brand new in 1969 to today. Under light and in my opinion, there are around 20 wispy inner-sleeve/needle removal hairlines.
The cover is in a good condition with nice sharp edges, and a squareness to it, and ok though a little worn two corners of the spine due to shelfwear. The front half of the gatefold cover looks the best in terms of wear.
The spine is worst for wear - rating probably average due to storage. Text readable and spine is unsplit.
From a smoke free and pet free home.
More 12" LPs and singles will be added over the next few weeks / months.
