Silver reflective cover
Excellent original from the french composer Francis Miroglio, this is his great Extensions 2 released on the great silver psychedelic effect cover series of Philips Prospective 21 Siecle.
Some info on the release: Rare original issue, released in France sometime in the 70's on the great Philips Prospective 21 Siecle label (Bernard Parmegiani, Pierre Schaeffer, Pierre Henry, Francois Bayle, Ivo Malec, Gottfried Michael Koenig, Dubravko Detoni, etc.). Features Francis Miroglio's "Extensions 2" for percussion performed by the legendary Percussions de Strasbourg.
Francis Miroglio was a french composer that studied together with Darius Milhaud and followed the summer courses at the Darmstadt school during 1959-1965. Back in 1965 he founded the the festival of music and art Nuits de La Fondation Maeght at Saint-Paul-de-Vence and remained its' artistic director until 1971. On this festival appeared figures of the avant-garde, like Sun Ra, Albert Ayler, Terry Riley, Steve Reich, Charlemagne Palestine, Cecil Taylor, La Monte Young, Francois Tusques, Pandit Pran Nath, Sunny Murray and many more that appeared later on releases on the Shandar label. He has collaborated with artists, such as Bruno Maderna, Eugen Bigot, Van Kampen, Alexander Calder and Joan Miro, intergrating often on visual works musical elements. His music had a post-serial tendency and more often was aleatory and open-form. He's known for being one of the first to write for the electroacoustic medium in the early 60's.
Condition: Vinyl lies in excellent condition, looks super clean and plays nicely, while cover lies in mint- shape, nearly new (see picture).
