Description
Sometime in early 1985 I realized that LP records were going to go the way of the dodo bird as CD’s were taking over. I spent much of that year tracking down and buying every Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab and Japanese import record I could find. I played most of them only once or twice on my (at the time) high end turntable with state-of-the-art diamond stylus. I recorded them onto metal bias cassettes and then placed the album into a heavy plastic sleeve. I noted the play date(s) and put the record away in a heavy duty container storing them vertically.
There these 50 or so amazing classic rock records have sat, protected and valued for over 30 years waiting for the right time to be brought back into the world. That time is now. Check out my other auctions, I plan on putting the entire collection up for sale over the next few weeks.
Check out the pics and bid with confidence. These are my records, I know how they were handled, when they were played, and how they have been stored. Because of their condition, they are the rarest of the rare and a great addition to any audiophile collection. Enjoy!!
Up for auction today is MFSL 1-052, Double Vision by Foreigner, an original Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab half-speed master recording, issued in 1981, pressed in Japan on high quality super vinyl.- Cover is VG+, Cover is very clean with a vibrant image, corners are crisp but there is flaking along the top edge, see pics.
- Includes original VRP style UHQ inner sleeve and MFSL fold-out insert in perfect shape.
Within 2 days of receiving payment I will pack your record in a heavy duty album mailer with two heavy cardboard stiffener plates. This should ensure it arives in the same condition as when it left my house. Insurance is included on the expidited shipping methods! NOTE: The tracking on the Parcel Select method is very spotty. So don't panic if you don't see anything in the system for the first few days. It tends to show up once it's arrive at the sorting center nearest you. If the item arrives with any sort of damage, PLEASE file a claim with the USPS nearest you. This is USPS's rules, I can't do it for you. Please don't leave negative feedback becasue the post office mangled your album. That's what insurance is for!!
I will combine shipping, just ask!!
Domestic buyer pays calculated shipping costs based on your location and how fast you want it. I do not recommend the extra cheap USPS rate as I have lost a few items using that method and the trackingfo is only updated at the end so it looks like your item is lost for a while. The priority mail 1-3 day rate is only $9-$13 and includes insurance and heavy duty packaging. You spent a fair amount of money on this record, why would you want it on the slow boat to China where it will get crushed? For a few bucks more you are covered.
International buyers: I use the eBay Global shipping service, for a nominal fee they handle everything and ensure all forms are properly filled out, calculate inport duty and VAT (if applicable) and you pay 1 charge at checkout. No unexpected bills to get your item out of customs. You have two options. #1 pay for everything including shipping, duty and VAT, the item will then arrive at your door. Option #2: Pay only auction and shipping. You pay duty and VAT at your local destination and pick it up yourself.
