You are bidding on a Super Rare Early 7" Gem…

The Floyd Dakil Four "Bad Boy b/w Stoppin' Traffic" 7" released in the early 60's by the short-lived and ultra small Earth Records imprint.

This is an Incredibly scarce early 1960's rock n roll 45 rpm record in nearly new condition (it needs cleaned, but even without cleaning, it plays beautifully-see pictures.) Floyd Dakil was a pioneer of the rock n roll movement in the USA. Based in Dallas, Texas, he pulled large crowds at his local gigs. In the early 1960's he broke out with a pretty big nationwide hit, "DANCE FRANNY DANCE" which has been re-issued in several early rock n roll compilations and is still being played on radio in some European countries.

EARTH Records 402 A&B "Bad Boy" b/w "Stoppin' Traffic".

On the record labels it shows the address: 2829 Rosedale, Dallas, Texas, (I believe a Residential Address) which means it was a limited local pressing, making them much more scarcer today. This artist is sometimes known as The Floyd Dakil Combo and just Floyd Dakil. Floyd Dakil built up such a huge following that he got noticed and he and his lawyer were negotiating a contract with Columbia Records. His lawyer was holding out for everything; so much so that Columbia soured on a deal and shortly afterward signed Billy Joel instead.

The rest, as they say, is history.
