Flowers For Agatha was a UK post punk / new wave / goth band based in Leeds, England, in the early '80s. It was formed by Jon Roberts (vocals/guitar) and Mick Armitage (guitar). Among its other members was Jeremy Dyson who later became known for his being a member of the team who wrote The League Of Gentlemen. 

The origins of Flowers Of Agatha are already from 1980 when the band was called Bleeding Hearts (they were very keen on bands like The Clash, Joy Division, Echo & The Bunnymen, The Chameleons etc.).

Later with a new name and signed by Leeds Indipendent Label (Rose Of Avalanche), they started recording tracks in 1985 for the 'The Thickest Head' 7" and 'The Freedom Curse' 12". Last release is the 'Foolish Young Old And Stupid' 12". The band folded around 1986-1987.

The records I'm listing now or I'm going to list are from my personal collection (so all the vinyls are in NM/EX condition, while the sleeves could have signs of their age). Anyway I'll try to well describe all their flaws.

VINYL GRADING :

  • Mint (M) record new and/or unplayed.
  • NearMint (NM) record in beautiful shape.
  • Excellent (EX) if there's a flaw on the sleeve or vinyl, it's very minor and is still a great copy.
  • Very Good (VG) the sleeve has minor shop wear, is creased and/or shows a ring impression; while the vinyl shows some signs of handling.
  • Good (G) the record is used but not abused.The sleeve shows multiple flaws (seam split, ring wear), while the vinyl may have some surface noise (no skips or pops) and shows small scratches that don't affect the sound.
  • Fair (F) the sleeve shows a lot of flaws(seam splits, ring wears), while the vinyl shows loads of surface noise and scratches or other defects.
