Fleetwood Mac : The Pious Bird Of Good Omen A1 / B1 1st Press Blue Horizon 1969
This first pressing plays to an incredible standard and is without doubt the finest I have ever listened to. The clarity, depth and warmth of the audio is sensational, it really could not play any better. Of the 12 tracks I have graded 3 as Mint- all the others are Mint! The vinyl is also in superb condition and this is a FINAL UPGRADE in every sense.
The laminated cover has been preserved so well with barely any wear and the original inner is in great condition also. This is a superb album in so many ways!

Visual description
The vinyl is in lovely condition and still has a fine glossy sheen with no marks or scratches. Even when I look under a bright light I can hardly make out any hairlines, a handful maybe but so faint and totally insignificant. A small number of mega faint specks also. The Blue Horizon labels are unmarked and only the S2 label has a little spindle wear, S1 is perfect.
Play grading
The intro on 'Need Your Love So Bad' plays with great clarity, there is zero intrusion on the audio. The opening vocal is more or less perfect with only a couple of barely audible statics and it progresses in the same way. The clarity is so impressive and the depth of sound also and especially as the volume increases. A couple more mega quiet statics but really they hardly deserve a mention - I will grade as Mint- the playback is superb.
'Comin' Home' plays with stunning quality and again there is no interference. A typically bluesy number the audio is so strong with only a couple of barely audible statics and Mint is deserved here.
The intro on 'Rambling Pony' is faultless and this standard is carried on into the first vocal section. The sonic quality is stunning and it plays 'as new' with no background of any kind. A stunning Mint version.
The intro on 'The Big Boat' plays so clearly with only 3/4 very quiet statics that are of course totally non-intrusive and the opening vocal is perfect. It continues to play with outstanding quality and there is no interference. The mid instrumental is 'as new' and each note is so clean and precise - no static, no background. The final vocal is equal to that and the depth and warmth of the audio here is superb. Mint all the way.
The intro on 'I Believe My Time Ain't Long' has no background and this clarity of sound is prevalent throughout. No ticks, clicks, pops or static the audio is so clean. A more powerful number there is no distortion either and Mint is again fair.
'The Sun Is Shining' ends the side with great quality and... no interference. A strong vocal there is no inner groove distortion and you can easily hear each instrument. There is no 'muddiness' and through to the end of the fade out there is no intrusion on the audio. Mint
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The intro on the classic 'Albatross' plays beautifully with no intrusion and it continues in the same manner. The clarity here is incredible - there is no background static and I only heard three very light ticks just beyond the half way mark. Aside from that it has an almost CD like aesthetic clean quality but with the warmth and depth you only find on vinyl. The playback is unbelievably clean. The fade out has only a couple of mega quiet statics. I think Mint- is an honest appraisal of the audio.
'Black Magic Woman' plays with real quality through every section with no sign of any interference. It plays like it is fresh out of the record shop not one that is nearly 55 years old! Mint
The piano intro on 'Just The Blues' is 'as new' and the opening vocal has only a couple of barely audible statics and I do mean barely audible! The clarity is stunning and there is no drop in quality as it progresses. I cannot put into words just how clean and precise the audio is - another sparse number and yet the sonic quality truly is amazing. A couple of very light statics a little further in but Mint- is well and truly deserved.
'Jigsaw Puzzle Blues' is another instrumental that plays 'as new' from start to finish with no intrusion. Perfect audio and Mint
The intro on 'Looking For Somebody' has no background and the rest of this classic bluesy number is of the same high end standard. No need to elaborate, another Mint track.
The final track 'Stop Messin' Around' plays with tremendous quality all the way through with no interference. Great clarity in fact for a final track and there is no inner groove distortion. Superb guitar work as usual and a sublime Mint finish to phenomenal album.
In summary it just does not get any better than this! The clarity and depth of the audio is on another level and there is nothing that detracts from the overall sound. I cannot emphasise enough how well it plays and it is easily another FINAL UPGRADE archive pressing on auction here. A breathtaking listen!
The Cover & Inner Sleeve
The cover is in superb condition with no obvious wear. The edges have barely any rubbing and the thin pinched spine is close to perfect with only a couple of minor crimps. All four corners are also extremely clean with no real wear and the opening edge has no handling wear either. The laminated front cover is stunning with only one small faint crease near the bottom edge and the back cover, which isn't laminated, is just as impressive with no marking. A fine example.
The plain white die-cut inner is in great condition with only light creasing and barely any marking.

Postage & Packaging
I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping. This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage. The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered. Any over-payment will always be refunded.
The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD). An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known. Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing. Please wait for the invoice before making payment and if you have any questions please feel free to ask. Many thanks.
All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection. They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection. I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.
The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each. There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up! Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
