FLEETWOOD MAC The Pious Bird Of Good Omen (Blue Horizon 7-63215) RARE UK 2nd Pressing MINT-
RARE original UK pressing of Fleetwood Mac`s compilation album "The Pious Bird Of Good Omen" on Blue Horizon Records (August 1969). With a first-pressing record housed in a matt "Shorewood Packaging" cover, this is obviously a very early second pressing, issued in c.1971.
"With songs taken from Fleetwood Mac and Mr. Wonderful (as well as the first four non-album UK singles), The Pious Bird Of Good Omen serves as a worthy 12-track compilation of the band's early Peter Green days. (...) The album itself was released by Blue Horizon after the group's contract with them had expired, making it one of the best routes in which to explore their mingling of Chicago and British blues. EX++ COVER. Unlaminated sleeve with minor storage wear. Please see photos for details.
- Second-pressing cover with "Shorepak by Shorewood Packaging Co. Ltd. England" on rear sleeve (at bottom left).
- Two creases to top corners - from longtime storage at record store.
MINT- RECORD that looks practically unplayed.
- Near-perfect vinyl on both sides, with impeccable audio reproduction throughout.
- A few lightest hairlines (from sleeve removal only) are the only signs of any previous play.
- Original first-pressing Blue Horizon Records labels with no spindle wear whatsoever.
- Song titles written in capital letters show the record itself to be an original UK first pressing!
- The matrix stamps in the run-off grooves read "S 7-63215-A1" and "S 7-63215-B1".
- This record/cover combination is certified to be a second UK pressing of "The Pious Bird Of Good Omen", released in c.1971.
