DRUM'S EXPLOSION (parts 1 & 2) ... 7-inch, 45rpm single by FLAVIO aka FLAVIO SCOGNA distribution by STUDIO G. Original Italian pressing on IDEA label (ID 03), from circa late '70s. Desirable and insanely good cosmic space disco / futuristic funk grail by the experimental composer and percussionist. Maybe the most important of all disco singles that captures the hedonistic / drug fuelled / electronic sound of the late '70s Italian discotheque scene. Baldelli et al would have killed for this twisted / psychedelic double-sider :) Thunderous, looped drum breaks / phased timpani / latin timbale / bugged-out synthesizers / treated clavinet and infectious dub production. Most probably, an obscure product placement item, created for a timpani drum maker (hence the sleeve artwork and percussion sounds you can hear). Proto turntablism / time-stretching via tape manipulation and super-infectious, filtered grooves. Killer music and the Part 2 version is a dub take with extra timbale breaks / electro wind FX / funky bells and other UFO sounds. Great for DJs with booming production. An early discovery for us (circa 2002) and we've never found another copy since. Important entry in the european disco genre and must-have item for the connoisseur. Crossover appeal for funky drummers / unknown B-boy break lovers / hip hop and techno house producers. Forget Tullio De Piscopo Fastness, this is the next level showcasing Italo drum and percussion skills. Same cult label as the equally insane Cento - Photochrome on Idea ID 02 too. Very rare 45!!!
Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG
Vinyl is in strong VG++ condition with some hairlines. Some surface noises (mostly to the fading outros). The tactile card picture sleeve is in strong VG++ condition (closer to M-) with some ring creasing from storage. Sharp corners and some wear marks to edges. Very rare 45!!!
