It was a blessing for me to be a teenager during the early 50's, listening, dancing and Bopping to the the best of the best.

FROM MY PERSONAL COLLECTION; You are bidding for an ultra rare 1959 original first pressing of Rock And Roll Volume 2 and recorded on the King Label K-12- 654 in High Fidelity. This is the 2" Crownless King Black Label with Silver Print and valued for $150+ NM in the Goldmine Price Guide. The Artists included James Brown, Little Willie John, Five Royales, Annie Laurie, Bill Doggett, The Midnighters, Earl Bostic, Titus Turner, Billy Ectstine, Bill Jennings and Otis Williams & Charms. A rare, rare album.

The 55 year old, thick glossy Album Cover is in very good condition and will be a huge hit in the Music Room. There is no discoloration, ring wear, tears, writing or wrinkles, just partial seam repair many years ago and scuffs. The liner notes in back are clean, showing just a hint of discoloration. The black shiny record has retained its rich, glossy look and the labels clean, showing only light spindle marks and a scuff. I inspected the ultra rare record under a 200 watt light and there were no feelable scratches or groove lines, just some light surface scratches/scuffs/paper cuts that did not affect an overall excellent listening experience. I also played the record just prior to listing and didn't hear any skips, sticks, loud pops or irritating hisses, and few light pops, some between the songs. An overall excellent listening experience.

The songs include; Side 1, Talk To Me (Little Willie John), Think (Five Royales), What Can I Do (Donnie Elbert), Rambunkshus (Bill Doggett), Please Please Please (James Brown), It Hurts To be In Love (Annie Laurie) . Side 2, Annie Had A Baby (Hank Ballard &The Midnighters), Harlem Nocturne (Earl Bostic), Hold Your Lovin' (Titus Turner), Blues Stay Away From Me (Otis Williams & Charms), Big Boy (Bill Jennings), Blowin' The Blues Away (Billy Eckstine).

A rare and most wonderful collectible for the serious collector and based on the Goldmine Guide, the Album Cover is graded a strong VG, the overall quality of the listening experience a strong VG+ and the record's appearance VG.There is no reserve.

GRADING GUIDELINES FROM THE GOLDMINE PRICE GUIDE!

(NM or NM-) NM records are shiny with no visible defects such as writing, stickers or needle marks on the labels. The album cover should have no creases, folds, seam splits or any signs of human handling. It also will have no ring wear.

(VG+) or (Excellent) May show some slight signs of wear, including light scuffs or very light scratches that do not affect the listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK. Minor signs of handling are OK. The cover might be marred by a cutout marking, small hole punch, a cut in the spine or a promotional stamp and even a tiny bit of ring wear.

(VG) Have more obvious flaws such as lack of gloss, groove wear, light scratches and needle marks. When played there will be surface noise that will not overpower the music overall. Noise in the passages, between songs is common. The cover may have minor seam splits, writing, tape, stickers, ring wear and scuffs.

(VG-) Is just a compounding of the VG category. Many obvious flaws but if the record is rare, may very well be worthwhile. I usually do not list records lower than the above grades.

Remember, when you are bidding, most of these records are usually 50+ years old and have been out of print for a very long time. When you consider that, damage, loss, and normal use or wear has reduced the market to the point that few of these wonderful treasures are even available today.
