Description

You are looking at one of the nicest copies of THE COASTERS EP titled ROCK AND ROLL WITH THE COASTERS  on ATCO Records No. 4501 that I have seen in 30 years of collecting rock and roll records.

This is the original, released in 1958.  The songs include, Searchin', Idol With The Golden Head, Young Blood and My Baby Comes To Me.

The thick cardboard picture sleeve is VG+ with the only visible defects being a small peel (about half the size of a dime) and some wear on the A and S in the word "COASTERS" on the front of the cover.

The record is also VG+ with the only visible defects being some light scratches that do not affect how the record plays.  And it plays well!  The label has no writing or damage of any kind.

There is no reserve, so here is your chance to own an extremely rare (and expensive) record at a potentially bargain price.  Bid well and good luck.

Please read on to find out about my grading standards.

First a word about myself, since I think that it's important to know who you're doing business with. Although I'm relatively new to ebay, I've been a collector and part-time dealer in rock and roll records and memorabilia here in Hawaii for more than 30 years. Some of my more expensive items have sold through major auctioneering firms such as Lelands.com and It's Only Rock n Roll. I have also dealt with Butterfield and Butterfield as well as hundreds of transactions through Goldmine.

Now just a few words on record grading. 1. I personally play every record that I put up for sale. Any defect is disclosed up front so you don't get any surprises.  2. Mint: There is no such thing.   3. Near Mint (NM) or Mint-: The highest grade most reputable dealers use. Nearly perfect in every way. No wear of any type. Very few records from the 50's and 60's will meet this standard.   4. Very Good +++ : No such thing   5. Very good + (VG+): A VG+ record would be NM except for a couple of minor things. A seam split less than 1 inch, minor ring wear, light scratches or light creasing are examples. A strong VG+ record is sometimes referred to as VG++, although you're now trying to draw a very fine line between a VG++ and a NM.   6. Very Good or VG: shows more signs of wear. Larger seam splits (but not the entire side of the album), writing, stickers, obvious ring wear.   7. Good (G), G+, or VG- : Taped seams, torn labels, heavy writing   8. Below Good: Use it as a frisbee.
