Ewan MacColl & Dominic Behan - Streets Of Song - Childhood Memories Of City Streets *(UK Topic 12T41 - 1959 - Vg+ / Ex
Great copy of much sought after early Topic issue with screenprinted cover. Features MacColl and Behan talking about the streets where they grew up and singing songs featuring Singing games, Ring games, Skipping-rope and Ball rhymes, Chants, Jeers and Election ditties, Seasonalsonga snd chants, Rhymes and Taunts and The Day's End. A wonderful nostalgic album, but also a great social snapshot of the time.
Single sheet screenprinted cover features a pasted on printed image of children playing in a street. The screenprinted part is the reddish/brown bands across the cover. There is some faint creasing to the top left hand side and top right, but this does not affect the look (see image). No tears or rubbing. The 'glued in' inner sleeve is slightly split on the bottom seam. The 14 page stapled insert features notes and lyrics to the songs and childrens drawings and is clean and uncreased, with no rubbing. Vinyl is clean and shiny with no scratches and labels are clean with a spindle trace on one side only. A lovely item !.
This record comes from a collection that has been stored unplayed for 30 years.
Record will be sent in a strong plastic sleeve inside a strong cardboard mailer, with cardboard ether side for extra protection.
