Description
Evolution Teddy Charles Quintet and New Directions Quartet Prestige 7078 LP mono LP. Original Deep groove pressing with yellow fireworks label, 446 W. 50th St., N.Y.C. address, and RVG on the trail-off wax. Sidemen include Jimmy Giuffre, Shorty Rodgers, Teddy Charles, Shelly Man, Curtis Counce, J.R. Montrose, Charlie Mingus, and Gerry Segal. Tunes are: Evolution\Free\Violetta\The Night We Called it a Day\Jay Walkin'\Speak Low\Relaxo Abstracto\I Can't Get Started.
Condition - Grading is Visual Under Bright Light
Cover is a nice VG. The front cover graphics are beautiful and vivid. 2 inch crease on the upper left amd a small ( < 1 inch) crease on the lower right corner Some wear on the corners with a 1/8 split on the lower right corner, a 1 inch split on the upper right corner, and the upper left corner dinged and split 3/4 of an inch on top and 1/2 inch on the side. 1 1\2 inch split on the top middle. The printing on the edge is sharp and clear. Some seam wear above the word "PRESTIGE" on the spine The back cover slick is pretty bright with some light soiling around the edges. "Not for Sale" stamp middle left edge. "Printed and Packaged by GEM Albums, Inc. N.Y." on the bottom right corner. A little rough around the edges but still a pretty cover that faces up nicely.
LP is a strong glossy VG+ with some light sleeve wear and a few hairlines, nothing feelable or serious. Labels are clean and beautiful except for "Not For Sale" stamped on side B. A beautiful example of this rare and desireable early Prestige, you won't see many nicer.
Overall not perfect or NM but a nice copy of a rare jazz LP. This copy should make some collector very happy. Check out my other auctions for more rare and interesting records. Winning auctions may be combined to save postage cost. Check out my feedback for results of recent rare record auctions.
Grading
Grading is SS (still sealed), NM, VG+, VG. The myriad of grading systems on Ebay is a good indicator of the subjective nature of grading. In my opinion NM is close to perfect with one or two very minor flaws, VG+ is above average and collectable and VG is average used condition but probably the best choice for playing. I'm a collector and try to describe LPs as accurately as possible, the way I would want them described to me. The pictures should at least give a good indication of the condition of the covers and labels. Please see my seller feedback for comments on my grading. If you don't agree with how I'm calling a record that is your privilege but with all respect please don't bid.
Packaging
LP will be shipped outside of jacket in record bag and boxed for protection using an LP shipping box with cardboard stiffeners.
Terms and Payment
Low starting price and no reserve. Five day auction. Paypal only. Payment must be made within 48 hours of auction close or seven days for other forms of payment unless other arragements are made before end of auction.
Shipping and Insurance
I don't profit from shipping. If an overage occurs I will refund the difference.

$4.00 Priority mail with free delivery confirmation in US. Insurance is optional but I cannot be responsible for uninsured shipments.
International
Shipping methods are First Class or Priority International. First Class cannot be tracked. Please see shipping calculator for cost.

Refund Policy
I stand behind what I sell, LP may be returned in original condition for a full refund minus return shipping costs if I am notified within three days of receipt of LP. No rebates if you keep the LP. I don't end auctions early, there is no Buy It Now price, emails asking for a BIK price will be ignored. Good luck!
