Audiophile 140 gram reissue of Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab Silver Label - Limited Edition with consecutive serial number -
Undercurrent was Bill Evans' first recording after his fellow bassist Scott LaFaro's fatal car accident. With the exception of four solos in April 1962, the pianist did not record anything for almost a year before meeting guitarist Jim Hall for two studio sessions. Evans and Hall formed an extremely creative duo. Both had their roots in bebop and at the same time represented an introspective style with progressive harmonies. Undercurrent is the result of an intimate collaboration, an almost brotherly chemistry between the two musicians and an excellent selection of tracks.
Standards like My Funny Valentine, the Broadway classic Darn That Dream or the reverb composition Romain presents the duo with a well-chosen mixture of hard-bop elements and romantic whispering. A touching experiment, remastered for Mobile Fidelity by Krieg Wunderlich. The 140g LP appears in a hinged cover with a consecutive serial number in a limited edition.

title
Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab Silver Label
Since the beginning of 2011, MFSL has been releasing a new series of LPs under the product name Silver Label. These are remastered and cut at Mobile Fidelity on the mastering chain constructed by Tim de Paravicini and pressed onto 140g vinyl at RTI in Los Angeles. With a lined rice paper inner sleeve, a protective intermediate sleeve and a consecutive serial number on the outer cover, the packaging meets the same high standards as the well-known Original Master Recording series. Mobile Fidelity is planning a series of experimental publications and in this series is also willing to make do with a copy of the master tape if the original tape cannot be made available. All LPs appear as limited editions and are likely to develop into coveted collector's items.
