Description
Thanks for taking a look at this listing of Library titles all released exclusively by North American labels (Capitol, Parry, Omni, NFL, etc). Some of these titles rarely come up for sale at all (Alfred, Canadisc, etc) and all are above the standard Library fare. Needless to say, every single title comes recommended (as most are in fact duplicates). This is not any random assortment of Library records but rather a carefully curated set that should appeal to like-minded collectors and DJs. All LP's for the most part are "dead-stock", so to speak, and as such are mostly unplayed and in top archive condition. Please take a look at my other auctions and combine items to save on shipping.
Auction is for a RARE ORIGINAL U.S. PRESSING of DOUG WOOD'S "ACTIVE SYNTHESIZER / SYNTHESIZER" LP from 1976 on Emil Ascher Library (Cat. #EA 111). Solid one-tracker electronic release and likely the only one in this particular early phase of the label with this cover series. Composed by same Doug Wood who went on to found the Omni Library label (of which I have a few up for auction). Although there are slightly different titles for each side, it's mostly the same across each... uptempo synthesizer-led themes, some good and some bad. The real stand-out here though is "Space Walk I", a downtempo amalgamation that's not easy to describe. Drum machines smoothed out by fender rhodes all underscoring heavy synth bliss that somehow also exudes an exotica/lounge type vibe reminiscent of some work by Nino Nardini and Roger Roger. Very unique and certainly a gem in the Emil Ascher catalogue. Cover has lightest ringwear, 1" of seamwear at bottom right corner and bottom of spine (although no splitting) and catalogue # written in pencil at top right corner of back cover. Vinyl looks unplayed!
Condition of Cover/Vinyl is VG+/VG++ / NM.
