Description
Great, Classic, Rock 'n' Roll QuadraDisc record from RCA and it's signed - twice! Elvis Aloha From Hawaii Via Satellite is the Double Lp by Elvis Presley. It came out in 1973. I do not have a Certificate of Authenticity, basically because there are no COA's in real life. For the last 5 years or so, this has been in a double frame (picture #5) in my house (in a room with no sunlight). It makes for quite a show piece (Frame NOT included). It came from the estate of a longtime Kansas City booking agent. His estate had thousands of signed items dating from the early '50's to the late '70's. Basically, I believe that he had anyone who came into his office sign as many things as he could get them to. There were records, photos, posters, magazines, newspaper ads, etc.... This came out in '73 (Jacket says '72, labels say '73) and Elvis played 4 shows in Kansas City between the record's release and his death (Two on 6/29/74, 4/21/76 and 6/18/77). I say that because I was not there to see it signed, but because of everything else in this gentleman's collection, I have no reason to believe that it is not authentic. Possibly, the most interesting aspect of this item, is that it was signed twice. It is signed on the back and also inside the gatefold cover. My guess is, that he signed it inside (picture #4) and then realized that the artwork was so busy that you couldn't see it very well, so he chose the moon area on the back, because it was a lighter color. If you so desired, you could probably split this down the seams and have two separate pieces - both autographed. I'm starting it at what I think is a low minimum bid and no reserve. The gatefold cover is a strong VG++, with no split seams, cut-out marks, writing (other than the autographs) or stickers. The vinyl on both Lps is a solid VG++ and they are in the original inner sleeves. It is a U.S. release on RCA QuadraDisc Records VPSX-6089. Don't miss out on this rare opportunity to own a piece of history! Check out my other listings this week! Note - We will insure this record for the value it sells at and if it goes overseas, we'll have to do it the $35 way, rather than the $15 way. Any questions - Please ask before bidding. Thanks and Good Luck!
