Description
This is an auction for an ORIGINAL copy of the 1956 release of Hound Dog / Don't Be Cruel released in the USA.
The record itself (47-6604 ) is visually in VERY GOOD+ condition and retains some of it's natural sheen .
There are some visible marks/scratches but nothing too deep or drastic.
The labels have NO WRITING but do have a numbered sticker on one side(see photos)
This is the RARER issue WITH THE HORIZONTAL LINE. (you could say that this is the equivilant of the U.K HMV Gold lettering release)
The picture sleeve is much sought after and was listed in a U.S guide book back in 2008 as $50 in the condition it is in now(which i would say is VERY GOOD+ ) for the sleeve alone!!!
This was the 1st issued picture sleeve issued for an Elvis release and has 2 GREAT photos (see photos)
THIS IS THE RARE RELEASE WITH Hound Dog ON TOP (rather than the 2nd issued with Don't Be Cruel on top)
The images are quite bright and have NO WRITING!
The only thing that stops this from grading higher is some ringwear/creases and a partial seam split on one side a small tear along the seam split.
With all that said this is still an affordable collection filler until that mint $125 record and sleeve come along!!!
This, as with ALL of my picture sleeve releases comes housed in a separate paper sleeve containing the record and a protective poly sleeve to help prevent ny further future wear!!
With a LOW START and NO RESERVE you might just get a genuine bargain.
