ELVIS PRESLEY - "FROM MEMPHIS TO VEGAS" (LSP-6020) - FIRST PRESSING WITH SONGWRITER CREDITS ERROR ON LABEL
RECORDS: VG+ for both records, although Record 1 has a few more surface scratches than Record 2, as is normal for this set. I test played "Johnny B. Good" and all 7:30 of "Suspicious Minds" due to a couple of suspicious looking scratches. Both songs played fantastic! Virtually no audible disturbance on either selection. Record 2 appears to be without any suspicious scratches or marks and should play just as well as Record 1. "Suspicious Minds", Elvis' most recent single, was the highlight of this show at the International Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada on that summer night in 1969. The Side 2 label has the songwriter error, crediting Tommy Boyce & Bobby Hart on "Words", instead of B. Gibb, M. Gibb, R. Gibb. "Suspicious Minds" is credited to Frances Zambon instead of Mark James. The records are actually a mix-match for plant pressings, as Record 1 is Hollywood and bears matrix numbers 6S/5S (Stamped). Record 2 is Rockaway and bears matrix numbers 3S/3S (Engraved). It is unknown how this mix-up occurred or when. Both records are Rigid Vinyl with "Deep Groove" Orange Labels.
COVER: VG+ solid and remaining very clean with much original gloss. The reason for missing the grade of EXCELLENT is due to some ring wear, light corner wear along with some edge wear at the open end of the first pocket. The ring wear is more obvious on the back toward the bottom. Quite trivial in my opinion as the spine, which is very clean and fully legible, along with the upper & lower edges, are smooth and consistent all the way around with no splits. The inside of the gatefold cover is almost like new; clean & glossy with absolutely no writing!
