ELVIS PRESLEY - ELVIS (LPM-1382) - THE HIGHLY SOUGHT-AFTER FIRST PRESSING WITH "BAND" LABELS! BEAUTIFUL, VG++ COPY

RECORD: EXCELLENT (VG++) with very pleasing, glossy surfaces. There are some very light surface scuffs that do not deter the listening enjoyment. I played this record in its entirety and it sounded absolutely fantastic and original with the original Mono sound! This was a great listening experience from start to finish, with crisp, clear vocals and instrumentation. There are just a few sporadic "ticks" as well as some light static heard between the tracks, but this is to be expected on a record of this vintage. A collector would be hard-pressed to locate a superior copy without having to pay much more for a Near Mint example (if one could be found). Of course, this is a Rockaway pressing, due to the fact that the Rockaway pressing plant was the only one to produce the "Band" labels as this example exhibits. The labels are clean and original with no stickers or writing. However, there are spindle marks. The matrix numbers end with 5S/5S. This album showcases Elvis at the age of 21, charged with full energy, at the early stage of his career. The very sound that you hear on this record was the catalyst for the hysteria that made Elvis the “King of Rock ‘n’ Roll”.

COVER: EXCELLENT (VG++) with absolutely no seam splits, tape, writing or staple holes! This is a most stunning cover, boasting full originality. It is as close as you will find to full Near Mint. All corners are sharp, as are the edges all the way around and the white is WHITE! Of course, the spine is simply stunning as well and fully legible. The ONLY thing keeping this cover from Near Mint is some very light scuffing on both sides from contact with other LP's over the decades. When examining this album, one must keep reminding themselves that it is 59 years old! Albums of this vintage, especially Rock 'n' Roll albums, are RARE this nice. This album deserves placement in a high-end collection of Elvis Presley records and/or memorabilia.

INNER SLEEVE: The original glassine (or "onion skin") sleeve from the era, but the record will be shipped in a plain white sleeve to avoid further splitting to the side seams of the original sleeve. Just one side seam shows some splitting.
