Description
ELVIS PRESLEY - “ELVIS' CHRISTMAS ALBUM” (LOC-1035), A FIRST PRESSING FROM 1957 WITH INTACT PHOTO ALBUM INSIDE! RECORD: VG+ with very strong vocals and instrumentation! This Indianapolis pressing was test-played in its entirety and met with very positive results, with the exception of one very unusual skip on "Peace In The Valley" that sounds almost like a repeat at first. All other tracks play just fine. There is still plenty of original gloss on this record. Of course, with an record of this vintage, there is some light surface noise and subtle "ticks" in areas, but nothing that should be considered as distracting. This album was released in November of 1957 and includes Elvis' big hit, "Blue Christmas". There is some speculation as to whether this album was available in 1957 only or if it had a two-year run, before being revamped in 1959 as LPM-1951. There are those who speculate that the Silver Print along the spine was done for the 1958 issue and that Gold was used only on the 1957 issues. The labels are without any writing or stickers, but do show some spindle marks. The matrix numbers on this record end with 1S/1S. COVER: VG+ with no obvious splitting on the spine. However, it does appear as though it has begun to split toward the top of the spine. The Gold Print remains fully legible. The upper & lower edges are mostly sound, although there is a 1-inch lower seam split at the open end. The upper right corner has only begun to split at the seam. Only minor, spotted wear is seen along the upper edges. the lower edges show just the normal shelf wear. the usual corner tip wear is also present. there is no typical ring wear on either side; just some very light surface scuffing from contact with other LP's over time. The front shows some horizontal stress marks, however. Inside of the gate fold, we find that the bound-in photo album remains fully intact. There are no tears, stains or writing, but there is some minor wrinkling on the pages from being turned and looked at. INNER SLEEVE: The original RCA Victor sleeve from 1957.
I COMBINE SHIPPING! $4 for the first LP, then 25 cents for each additional LP. I have resumed International Shipping to select countries. Please do not ask me to check "Gift" instead of "Merchandise" or to declare a lower value on the Customs Form! I ship all records in the CORRECT cardboard record mailers, specifically designed for shipping these historic and tough-to-replace treasures to your doorstep in the same condition as when they leave my hands. USPS has been known to find a way to bend these boxes on occasion, hard as that may be to believe, so items valued at $30 or more will be shipped automatically with insurance at no additional cost to the buyer. ALL of my records are U.S. pressings unless otherwise stated. Payment is expected within 5 (Five) days from close of auction via PAY PAL ONLY – NO EXCEPTIONS, PLEASE. I normally ship within three business days from close of auction, but please allow a little extra time in the event of a holiday. Returns are accepted if you are accepted if you are not completely satisfied with your item. I strongly believe that my grading of records is spot-on, but we’re all human and something may occasionally be missed upon inspection.
