Description
This is an auction for an ORIGINAL copy of the Mega Rare Compact 33 1961 single Surrender / Lonely Man released in the USA.
The record itself (37-7850)is ONLY in VERY GOOD- condition.(hence lower starting price)
The labels have NO WRITING but there is some damage to the label on the Surrender side.(see photos).
The picture sleeve is much sought after and was listed in a U.S guide book back in 2008 still at $250 in the condition it is in now(which i would say is ONLY in VERY GOOD- )for the sleeve alone!!!
This sleeve is over 54 years old and has signs of wear (again hence the really low starting price)
The only thing that stops this from grading higher is some ringwear/scuff marks/creases, pen marks, a number written in pencil and tape marks( although there are no real spits to have warranted the tape!)
The record is also stored in a separate paper sleeve to prevent anymore wear to this sleeve!!
I have also play tested both sides of this and both sides play through with NO SKIPS or JUMPS!
There is however some crackle and hiss.
Overall 2 years ago this was valued at a massive $500(£350 approx) .I dont have a current price guide but i would say at least £360.
I will start this at WAY UNDER THAT!
This would serve as an affordable collection filler until that MINT $2000 ( £1400 copy comes along!)
With a LOW START and NO RESERVE you might be able to grab yourself a bargain!!!
PLEASE REMEMBER OVERALL CONDITION OF THIS RARITY IF / WHEN PLACING A BID AS THIS WILL ONLY SERVE AS AN AFFORDABLE COLLECTION FILLER UNTIL THAT £1400 COPY COMES ALONG!!!
