Description
Up for bid is a set of five Sun label 78 RPM records by Elvis Presley with Scotty and Bill. They are pressed in colored vinyl, with each record in a different color. As with most of these that I've seen in the past, there are a few random streaks of black vinyl mixed in the color. These marks are far less prevalent in this set than in many i've seen. The largest of these streaks can be seen in the photograph of the red record, just to the North-East of the letter "N" in "SUN." Such marks are merely streaks of color, and in no way affect the playability or sound of these records. The titles are as follows:
#209 - That's All Right/Blue Moon of Kentucky
#210 - I Don't Care if the Sun Don't Shine/Good Rockin' Tonight
#215 - Milkcow Blues Boogie/You're a Heartbreaker
#217 - I'm Left, You're Right, She's Gone/Baby Let's Play House
#223 - Mystery Train/I Forgot to Remember to Forget
Each of the records is in excellent condition. I've played them a few times myself, and on my Zenith Cobra record player, the sound is amazingly crisp, with great fidelity. They are in great shape physically, and I cannot find a scuff on any of the ten sides. The only drawbacks (and they're minor) are that at some point in the past, somebody has applied a very small numbered label to one side of each record, and has also faintly written in pencil, on the same side as the numbered label, what appears to be a price. The pencil can be easily removed with a white art eraser or a gum eraser, however a common pencil eraser MUST NOT be used, as it will wear through the yellow coloring on the surface of the paper label. (I learned this from hard experience in the past.)
The records were bought at an antique store as part of a large lot of 78 RPM records, and were in a generic twelve-record album, and therefore were not in individual sleeves. For this reason, the records will be shipped in clean vintage sleeves made of heavy green paper.
