Description
Hello All--you are looking at a lovely promo 7" in NM condition-played only a few times...on the Project 3 label from 1969...cat# PR45-1362-SD-in stereo---by Ellen Dedrick of the Free Design. (Ellen Dedrick with Orchestra) most likely with Enoch Light's Orchestra on whose Project 3 label the Free Design recorded almost all their albums. This single was released as a promo in 1969, perhaps with the intention of having the tunes included on the Heaven/Earth album from the same year or maybe it was just cut as a single, period. I am not sure. It reads "Promotional-Not For Sale" on the white label.
It features the classic song Nature Boy on the A side (written by Eden Ahbez) running at 2:42 and then an original Settlement Boy, running at 3:20 on the B side (written by C. Dedrick and K. Dedrick...C being Chris and K most likely being his wife, Kathy.)
You may be familiar with these songs as bonus tracks from cd issues of the Free Design catalog. Single is shiny NM /looks unplayed except i know i have listened to it a few times over the years. It comes in a simple white sleeve and then i have a clear sleeve cover i put those into. A pretty groovy addition to any Free Designer's collection :)
