Description

Released in 1971, The Polite Force is the second album of British rock band Egg. It is often regarded as the band’s best work. The music is a fine example of early English progressive rock linked to the 'Canterbury Scene.' Although the music of Egg does have occasional vocals, it is mostly instrumental and as such relies on tight ensemble playing and interesting thematic and melodic material with extended chordal harmonies and irregular time signatures.

The band consists of:  Dave Stewart - organ, piano, tone generator; Mont Campbell - bass, vocals; Clive Brooks – drums.

Guest musicians on track 2: Henry Lowther - trumpet; Mike Davis - trumpet; Bob Downes - tenor sax; Tony Roberts - tenor sax.
