Description
Collectors, here is a wonderful disc, Edison Diamond Disc #52295, circa fall 1928. The B. A. Rolfe Orchestra performs two Fox trots: "Beautiful", with vocal chorus, and "The St. Louis Blues". Wonderful arrangements with great trumpet and clarinet solos, very enjoyable. "Blues" was issued as Blue Amberol cylinder record #5577. The record plays well with minimal surface noise: there are no edge chips, and the labels are firmly attached to the record.
Edison stopped issuing Diamond Discs in October, 1929, so this record was for sale for about a year. The only copies available would have to been purchased at that time, or in dealer or jobber stock; the Edison factory destroyed all of its records at the end of 1929. Add in that this was 90+ years ago, and you have a real rarity with this record. If this is what you like, do not pass it up, low starting bid, go for it!
Shipping to USA addresses only. $4.95 media mail postage and handling, record will be carefully packed and shipped in a new box. Please pay within 24 hours of purchase and I will leave you positive feedback when I ship the record, your positive feedback much appreciated!!
