Description
2 Eddie Cochran 45's, bought by me in 1958.
Original pressings of;
'Summertime Blues' / 'Love again' HL-U. 8702
'C'mon Everybody' / 'Don't ever let me go' HLU-U 8792
These 2 45's have the usual surface scratches and have been well played. But still sound good.
Anorak interest:
The recording of 'Summertime blues' is rare, as LIBERTY released the wrong mix by mistake. The voice ("No dice son.....") is dry. It has no reverb, this was an error by the record company, and all further pressings after 1958 have the other common mix, (with reverb). As far as I know, you won't find this version other than on the original 1958 78rpm or 45 single. (Although there may be 'alt takes' albums out there, so many albums .. I wouldn't like to say, but not on a 1958 single. Did you know the first takes of 'C'mon Everybody were called 'Let's get together' ? Eddie changed the lyrics. I believe this version is available on an album out there somewhere...
The records are true vintage collectables, not prestine, (hence the bargain price) but play well. They will be well packed for posting.
