Description

EYES OF BLUE - IN FIELDS OF ARDATH

A truly excellent plus condition copy of this 1969 UK 1st press psych gem with brilliant sound quality throughout

Year/Label :  UK Mercury 1969

Label number :  20164SMCL

Matrix numbers :  134225 1Y//1 420   /   134225 2Y//1 420

Stampers :  0 1 2  /  0 1 2 2

Supremely rare and highly sought after 1969 UK 1st press psych gem with excellent plus (EX+) condition vinyl - weighty, gleaming, jet black sheen and earliest 1Y/1, 2Y/1 dead wax matrix pressing with just a couple of very faint wispy hairlines and extremely faint paper scuffs - each purely superficial and only identifiable with close inspection under a bright light. Clearly this is a record that has been sparingly played.  Crisp, clean excellent plus (EX+) condition labels with just a few small and extremely faint spindle trails in evidence on each.  The fully laminated sleeve remains in beautiful, excellent plus (EX+) condition with firm unscuffed edges - jus ta tiny "nick" on each of the top and bottom edges, still very well defined right angled corners with just a little mild rubbing on each, a rigid spine (with x2 tiny edge "nicks") with all spine text remaining beautifully intact. The only other blemishes (too strong  word) are some faint and non-obvious 1cm laminate creases adjacent and perpendicular to the edges and a very faint 3mm surface score mark on the front side - you will need to tilt the sleeve to the correct angle in a good light to see it. Each of these blemishes is very minor and with all colours, photos, text and art work remaining so beautifully intact I have no hesitation in grading the condition of the sleeve as excellent. The quality of the stereo audio is superb with no clicks, interference or background crackle - simply great tone and crystal clear instrumentation and vocals throughout with the whole LP a great listen. Comes complete with excellent plus (EX+) condition original "PATENT NO..." and "MADE IN ENGLAND" inner sleeve with no side splits, tears, edge fraying or creasing and just a little very mild age discolouration towards the edges.

Incredibly rare, very sought after, highly collectable - I can't imagine there to be many of these 1st pressings in better condition than this since this LP sold in such limited quantities when first released 53 years ago!

POSTAGE COSTS :

For the UK £4 using Royal Mail tracked 48;

for continental Europe £13 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked/signed for,

and for the rest of the world £19 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked/signed for.

I do provide posting and packaging discounts for multiple purchases. I make no profit from postage.

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.

A bit about myself : I have been collecting UK vinyl for over 54 years from a variety of sources : my own collection, friends and family, car boot and garage sales, door-to-door leaflets, and even through placing an advert in my wife's shop window! My ebay feedback speaks for itself so rest assured that you are buying from a trusted seller and in the very unlikely event that you are unhappy with your purchase just e-mail me and I will sort out the problem. I offer a "no questions asked" refund policy.
