Description

At Last! is the debut studio album by American blues and soul artist Etta James, which includes the title song "At Last". The album was released on Argo Records in November 1960 and was produced by Phil and Leonard Chess. The original release contained four of James' hits on the Rhythm and Blues Records Chart between 1960 and 1961. It was her first of five studio albums James would release on the Argo label. Condition- Vinyl- Amazing! The gloss is superb, and the Argo label is mint. There is one long light mark that is more of a scuff about 6 inches long, A groove mark about two inches long and one other short scratch. There are a few small inconsequential marks aside from that. Besides the described marks, this is a clean and beautiful album. The good news is that it plays through beautifully. There is some light crackles hear and there. One time while I was listening to it, the crackles were more noticible, but not loud. When I say that it plays beautifully I mean it! Final grade, Near mint with described marks. Cover- The cover presents nicely, but appears to have been professionally repaired at the top. I am not sure. there is a long paper tape on the top back and it appears to have been applied. But I might be wrong and it might be original. ther is some chipping of paper on the back on the top left. some darkened areas where tape was applied on the top right. some wear to the cornes and some small bumps. But all in all the back cover is clean. The front cover Has that applied paper tape all the way along the top, nicely done. The top left corner has some scotch tape small pieces and has some paper coming loose in the corner along with some small creasing. The bottom right was starting to seam split so someone put about a 4 inch piece of scotch tape there to prevent more splitting and has a small crease in the corner. The good thing is that with all this done to the cover it still presents nicely if you can imagine that! It! It has a clear clean cover with no ring wear. Final Grade- VG to VG+.
