**NOTE: Review from/by KEN SCOTT - 'ARCHIVIST' - 4th Edition: "Welcome to Worldly Darkness High School, where students smoke dead rats and are guided around by demons speaking in annoying Gilbert Gottfried voices. Whereas most of the records in this section of 'Archivist' were probably unintentional in their being strange, the Eternal Vision guys leave no doubt that they're aiming straight for the ultra bizarre. 'Special Deliverance' is best described as a comedy/satire LP, a Christian response from someone I'd wager was heavily raised on The Firesign Theatre. It may well be the weirdest album you'll ever hear. The story line revolves around Alan, a new student who's initiated into the school's worldly ways, reluctantly begins to adopt their beliefs, then unexpectedly takes a different course by becoming a Christian (much to the chagrin of the administration). This all happens via comedic fast-paced collages of dialogue, electronically altered voices, skipping records, thematic music, talk show panels, phone calls, repeated peals of maniacal laughter, etc. Along the way you'll meet the Cookie-Monster-voiced Pompous Pip Pukus delivering a sermon on getting to heaven by good works, a heavily warbled classroom film on evolution, and a George Burns-like priest who lights up and pours drinks in the confessional (he also shows up cracking jokes at a standup comedy nightclub, complete with snare drum and cymbal on the punch lines). Can be rather weighty in spots, but ultimately a very creative and entertaining work. Demented B+W cover art, both front and back."
