ERROR COPY Beatles Revolver Parlophone Vinyl LP with UNISSUED LABEL

This exceedingly rare error LP with an unissued label is something to get excited about!  It is a 1971 pressing of Revolver with a stereo label on side A and a mono label on side B.  To make it even more interesting, Revolver was never issued in mono on the boxed Parlophone label, so this record’s side B label is not only incorrect to be on a stereo LP, but it was never actually issued by Parlophone, making the extremely few records with this error the only LPs to ever have this label.  Perhaps, it’s an indication that they intended to reissue Revolver in mono in 1971, and this record somehow slipped out of the factory with the unused/error label.  

This record was pulled out of a high-end record collector’s personal collection, and as a longtime record collector myself, I’ve never seen another one of these.  Having done research after acquiring this record, this is an extremely rare chance to own a Beatles record of this magnitude of rarity and is an incredible addition to even the most extreme Beatles completionist’s collection.  To the best of my knowledge, only one other copy of this record has ever shown being sold online.  

The jacket seems to be of late ‘60s vintage.  Perhaps a pressing plant employee, noticing the error, escaped with the record and placed it in a then NOS jacket.  I’ve heard stories of EMI having extra-large runs of album jackets, so it’s very possible that an employee found a jacket that predates the vinyl by a few years and slipped this LP in it.
