This is the Dutch stereo release of Philips 840 042 BY on the rough textured black label!
Record Condition
VG+ to Excellent. A few stains of age and very light scuffs cause no problems at all. The record sounds clear and vivid and produces only light to moderate background noises that might even disappear when treated with a disc cleaner (which I unfortunately do not own)! After all these years still an amazing copy!Cover Condition
Excellent. Moderate crease and ring wear. The glossy coating is slightly warped at bottom and occasionally missing. Some remains of a price sticker in the top right corner (see scan). A very nice copy!GRADING
I try my best to be as accurate as possible as I have been collecting records for more than 25 years and have experienced the annoyance when records are graded inaccurately. Every collector of records knows - and every honest seller of records should know also! - that a visual grading does not say much about the actual condition of the record. Consequently: grading a record MINT or NEAR MINT without listening to it is simply negligent - to say the least. Unfortunately this happens on e-bay every day. On the other hand: it is simply not possible to listen to hundreds of records. So I decided to give every single record a careful acoustic check for the basic sound, listening to parts that look "suspicious" if necessary but I did not listen to the records throughout. If any inconvenience occurs from this - please let me know as soon as possible.MINT (M) The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.
NEARLY MINT (NM - Goldmine standard) The record shows no obvious signs of wear. The vinyl should show no wear from playing only the slightest of paper scuffs are acceptable. The jacket should look as if you just got it home from a new record store and removed the shrink-wrap.
EXCELLENT (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG) The record has obviously been played many times but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items without any major defects is acceptable.
GOOD (G) The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration etc.
Returns are accepted if the item was misdescribed! And - sorry to say - only in that case! So PLEASE do only bid if you intend to buy the item.
