On offer here is a CRUSHINGLY RARE and in demand 50s EP (especially in this condition!!!!) called "A Smile And A Song" by Patience & Prudence.
This is the ORIGINAL 1957 UK 1st Pressing on the Tri-centred LONDON label RE-U 1087. Any fan of Patience & Prudence, avid collectors of the London label or 50s music in general will want to have this in their collection!!!!
Daughters of orchestra leader Mark McIntyre, Patience & Prudence were all of 14 and 11 years old when they hit the Top Five in 1956 with 'Tonight You Belong to Me', and they went on to score several more hits in the US before leaving the music industry for good at the end of the decade. However, despite having a recording legacy consisting of little more than a few singles and this astonishingly rare EP, '50s pop and rock fans have been "patiently" searching them out; that's probably because their harmonies were among the mostbewitching of the era, catnip for both lounge lizards in search of exotica and rockabillies with a yen for the lighter side.Tracks on this EP are: "Tonight You Belong To Me"; "Gonna Get Along Without Ya Now"; "The Money Tree" and "Dreamer's Bay".
THIS IS AN EXTREMELY RARE AND DESIRABLE 50s EP, HIGHLY SOUGHT-AFTER AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND. ASK YOURSELF WHEN YOU'LL NEXT SEE A COPY AS SUPERB AS THIS OFFERED FOR SALE???!!! SO, DON'T MISS OUT!!!!
The record labels are in STUNNING condition with NO writing, NO wear and just a couple of very feint spindle marks. Most of the discs from this era had been played on a heavy stylus and are usually found totally worn out, almost unplayable. THIS RECORD, HOWEVER, STILL RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL 'JUST PRESSED' LOOK and is strictly graded at MINT (minus)!!!! The sleeve is also in MINT minus condition, with just a couple of small laminate wrinkles on the reverse flipbacks. Believe me this item is NOT overgraded in ANY way!!!! I use STRICT RC grading standards - it's simply not in my interest to do otherwise!!!! Brilliant!!!!
