HMV Treasury Series, EMI RLS 739 4 LP (mono) box set, coloured dog in stamp labels: The Complete Recorded Legacy of Ginette Neveu including Violin Sonatas by Debussy and Richard Strauss, the Concertos by Brahms and Sibelius and  works for violin and piano by Ravel, Suk, Chopin, Falla etc. Please see photos for details of records and performers.

CONDITION: Box is NM- (clean but has some foxing on inner rear), insert is VG+ and LPs are visually clean but do have some small pressing flaws/marks that affect play.

I have played the LPs and found grading them difficult because many tracks - in particular the early recordings – include background noise that has obviously been transferred from the original discs/ recordings. At times I couldn’t tell if a particular sound defect (e.g. crackle or tick) was part of the recording quality of these early discs or a fault of the condition of the boxset discs. Please note that gaps in between tracks (with one exception) are however quiet and without sound defect. Anyway, bearing this in mind, on my system (with a Pioneer SA610 amp at level 2) I could hear the following that I do not think are part of the original recordings:

Side 1 has a pressing flaw in track 6 which sounds softly for 18 revs.

Side 2 has scattered ticks/soft ticks which include 4 and 8 soft consecutive ones and 6 and 7 consecutive ones. There is a pressing flaw in track 3 which sounds for about 27 revs.

Side 3 (the Sibelius concerto first movement) has a small mark near the start which causes the needle to skip back/repeating groove plus causes tick/click sounds for about 18 revs. I could hear another 7 scattered ticks.

Side 4 has a small pressing flaw near the start which causes 12 ticks/clicks. I also heard 5 soft ticks during track 3.

Therefore the LPs are not perfect!

*All packages worth £30 or over to Europe and ROW addresses will only be sent by Royal Mail ‘International Signed For’ (which provides compensation upto £250 or £500 depending on destination). This will cost an additional £7 on top of rates shown above.

Packages over 2kg sent via Royal Mail will need to be split. I will obtain a proof of posting certificate for all packages. Buyers are responsible for any customs taxes and surcharges that their country may levy.

The cost for sending this boxset uninsured to a UK address will be £6.

PACKAGING: I will use LP mailer boxes with all LPs protected by bubble wrap and packed outside of their jackets.

PAYMENT: I can accept PayPal or cheques made out in UK£'s and drawn on a UK bank. Due to previous non-payment I must request that payment is made within 7 days of auction close. I will send a reminder after 7 days and if I do not receive payment after 10 days will offer to next highest bidder.
