Hi! You're looking at an absolutely SUPERB and NEAR MINT 8 LP Deluxe Box Set which is VERY RARE and hard to find, and is a remarkable COMPLETE recording of the Nine Symphonies of LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN by the legendary German conductor WILHELM FURTWANGLER--it's one of the greatest recordings of the Beethoven Symphonies ever committed to vinyl! The Box Set was pressed in GERMANY and is on the EMI / Electrola label and bears the serial number 1C 149-53 432/9 M. The records are all in absolutely NEAR MINT and FLAWLESS shape, with NO imperfections; the box is also NEAR MINT, with just light shelfwear and light corner dings. The set also includes the original book, which contains photographs and essays about Furtwangler and his impact on music in German and English. The record is titled "Wilhelm Furtwangler dirigiert Beethoven: Samtliche Sinfonien" (Wilhelm Furtwangler conducts Beethoven: Nine Symphonies" and features Furtwangler leading the Wiener Philharmoniker on Symphonies 1 through 7, conducting the Philharmonisches Orchester Stockholm on Symphony 8, and the Festspiel-Orchester Bayreuth on Symphony 9. The last, "Choral" movement of Symphony 9 also features the Festspiel-Chor Bayreuth, with soloists ELISABETH SCHWARZKOPF, soprano; ELISABETH HONGEN, contralto; HANS HOPF, tenor; and OTTO EDELMANN, bass.
