Description

Up for auction is an original Sun Records Elvis Presley 78 rpm. The number of the album is 223 and features the songs "Mystery Train" and "I Forgot to Remember to Forget". It is being sold in an as is condition. I am not familiar with record conditions and don’t know what makes or breaks the record in a used condition. I will explain everything I know about it and let you decide what shape that it is in. First the pictures. Some were taken with a flash (bright yellow label) and some without (golden looking label). I can tell you the label is in excellent condition with no age spots or discoloring. It is clean and unsoiled. It has no dings. There is slight wear from being put onto a turn table. The record has minor surface scratches. It is playable and has no skips when I played it. I don’t have the best sound system but I would say that it does sound pretty good for the age of the record. I emphasize that it did not have skips on my system. I have tried to show in the pictures without much success the numbers hand etched into the record just below the label. On the I forgot side: They are: The letters "Sun" over the number "U-157" and an etched "triangle" with the number "5379" also etched is the number "20". On they Mystery side: "Sun" over the number "U-156" with an etched "triangle" and the number "5377" and the number "20". There are some dings on the edge of the record that show very well in the pictures below. There are no gouges or dings in the record itself, just surface scratching. This record does not have the dust jacket. This record will be well packed in bubble wrap and shipped via USPS. It must be insured for the value of the bid.
