Elvis Presley walked into Sun records 60 years ago and made history. This 45 is a bridge to the past, living proof that Elvis revolutionized popular music, changing history, by melding blues and an offshoot of western swing which I think is called hillbilly bop. This record also shows how Elvis redefined Hillbilly Boogie into rockabilly, making the strongest connection between the blues and country. Elvis did what the great Bob Wills and Tommy Duncan couldn't do almost ten years earlier with their Brain Cloudy Blues. To be fair, Rockabilly is Western swing on crack IMHO.
RECORD DETAILS - STRONG VG
This record is 110% original, first run issue with the three push marks from the original mother clearly visible under the label. There's way too many boots of this 45 floating around as this record was bootlegged practically from the late '50's. This version of this record is a MUST HAVE; it's important to note the original and very specific manufacturing traits otherwise, just get the RCA shaded dog version.
The record graded a STRONG VG primarily due to groove wear. This record has obviously been played and loved for 60 years. It has been well cared for but has numerous handling marks and pronounced groove wear. Yet there's no writing on the labels and the labels aren't torn or worn to shit. This is a very nice copy anyone should be proud to add to their early rock and roll collections. No deep scratching or gouges on either side.
This is an exceedingly rare ORIGINAL record that will include its original Sun sleeve.
