The record we are offering here was a cut-out item from the November, 1956 Elvis Answers Back magazine. The record measures about 7 inches wide and plays at 78 RPM. This was made by Rainbo Records in Lawndale, California. It is manufactured with a thin cardboard back with the playing grooves on the top part made from some sort of plastic or silk type material. The top groove material has areas where it has raised and become unattached from the cardboard bottom, which has created a warbled look on the top part in these areas. 

We tested this record on both our heavy tracking old school phonograph that has a 78 RPM speed and also on our modern lighter tracking turntable, which only plays 33 1/3 and 45 RPM. The phonograph we used with the 78 speed tracks somewhat lighter than an older Victrola type system but quite a bit heavier than our more modern turntable. Although we could not get it to play on the lighter tracking unit, it did play all the way through from beginning to end on our heavier tracking phono. It is interesting to hear Elvis speak about his love for cars, and to mention that when he was a truck driver he would see cars on the road and dream of someday owning many of them. Elvis talks about his first car, which caught on fire the second day he owned it. Elvis states that he was not in love at the time of the interview and talks about being lonely, even while performing on stage, but hopes to someday find the right girl and have a family. He ends the record by thanking his fans who come to see him perform and for buying his RCA records.

All of our LP's are shipped in sturdy cardboard LP mailers with appropriate padding.

With the exception of sealed LP's, all LP's are removed from their outer sleeves to prevent seam splitting. Upon request, we will give your sealed LP's the same treatment.

All records are carefully graded. In an attempt to give customers an accurate impression of condition rather than adhere to somewhat arbitrary criteria, The Great Escape gives an "overall presentation" grade; we do not give a "listening" grade. Our vinyl listings are supplemented when necessary with additional remarks. For example: where some dealers will not allow a cut corner on an otherwise near mint jacket (often automatically relegating it to a VG+ at best), we may grade such a record as NM and note the cut-out mark (thereby letting you know what it "really" looks like: a near-perfect record with a cut corner). LPs are graded cover first, followed by the grade for the vinyl.
