Description
When this album was released during 1973 industrial action was rife in Britain resulting in the lack of many resources which led to factories being closed down with lost production.
RCAs record pressing plant along with their printing supplier had just began pressing and printing Elvis Raised on Rock/ For Old Times Sake LP record and sleeve when the factories were closed down resulting in very few being pressed and a total loss of production here in GB of records and sleeves. Overcoming the supply problem RCA imported the American Pressing in quantities and that was what was on general sale here in GB.
However the few that were pressed here in GB entered the market place- becoming a rare item to obtain
Here is a mint un-played copy OF THAT RECORD AND SLEEVE now over 40 years old purchased by my Dad
The Album retains its original high shine appearance on both sides No spindle marks on either of the two Labels Both large orange labels clearly state MANUFACTURED BY RCA LIMITED, ENGLAND FROM MASTER RECORDINGS- continuing with 3 other lines of text concerning copyright etc. (my photos are not clear I know)
The quality inner sleeve with inner plastic lining is clean (although yellowing now) and states `Made in Great Britain`
The sleeve itself is semi-gloss/matt on front and rear and states on the rear `Printed in England by Robert Stace` and also RCA LIMITED, RECORD DIVISION, RCA HOUSE, CURZON STREET, LONDON W1 The sleeve edge has the title clearly running along it (although my photo is not a good one)
The sleeve has minor indications of shelf wear along bottom edge. There is a piece of black finish missing, about 1" square, from the top right hand side of the front cover where possibly a sticker has been removed There is a small sticker with a black Star top right hand side on the back cover. The letters G.G. are evident below the record number APLI -0388 (The significance of this I have no idea)
This album has lived in a plastic album cover all its life never having been played
A genuine COLLECTORS ITEM for the dedicated fans
