Description
Elvis Presley- The Best Of Elvis- DLP 1159- HMV 1957 in picture sleeve. Gold print on labels.
The sleeve is in VG condition, all present without any tape repairs. There are a couple of minor tears on the opening edge with a little laminate lift. There is approx. 1 inch split to bottom edge in the middle where the disc has pushed through at some point. Very old price label on back top left corner. Spine is intact. Please see pictures.
Inner sleeve present and in excellent condition.
Now the important part, the disc This is flat and glossy with a few very minor age related hairlines and surface marks. No nasty scratches or chips. I would say it is VG+. I have play tested both sides, sounds wonderful, loud clear with very little isolated spots of background crackle here and there, on intro and between tracks that do not spoil the music, overall sounds fantastic for its age. Ansti- stat gun may resolve many of these if you have one. Side 1 plays all thee way no jumps skips or repeats . Side 2 the same 1N 1N Matrix. Photographed in daylight so please have a look at the pictures of the sleeve and disc as this is the item you will get. will post in 10" plastic sleeve by first class recorded in record mailer.
Interesting fact- I have discovered tonight that there may actually be 2 versions of this record. This one being the UK version, the other a US version produced by HMV but marketed by RCA in probably in huge numbers to the US market. The only way to tell them apart is from the back of the sleeve, The US version folds differently and has a very slightly different design on the back. I'm still looking into this but please be assured that this one is the UK and much wanted version made shortly before everything became RCA. Just thought I would share this , I'm still looking into it so no guarantees here on the facts about the US one but this one as per well known site (Discogs) is the true original UK press marketed in the UK.
Please see my other listing of CLP 1093, This is the last one I have for sale.
