ELVIS PRESLEY – ELVIS’ CHRISTMAS ALBUM (LSP-1951) RARE “FLAT LABEL” FROM 1968
RECORD: NM- with beautiful, glossy surfaces! There are only a couple extremely light paper sleeve scuffs that will not have any effect on the audible performance. Very minor! The Black “Dog On Top” labels on this Indianapolis pressing are simply stunning, NM with a high gloss finish! In my 42 years of collecting, I have seen less than 10 (ten) of these and only two in this lofty grade! Each and every one of these “Flat Labels” that I have encountered were housed in the “Elvis’ Great LP Catalog” sleeve 40D, which tells us that they were manufactured in 1968, just prior to the change to the Orange Labels. This album was originally released as LOC-1035 in November of 1957 and includes the popular hit, “Blue Christmas” as well as many other great Christmas classics. The matrix numbers end with 14S/19S.
COVER: VG++ (EXC) with the Red “Stereo Effect” Sticker applied over the staggered word “STEREO” on the front. There are absolutely no seam splits, tape, writing or staple holes anywhere on this cover. Ring wear is present on both sides, although it is very, very light. Some minor wear is seen on the corner tips as well as the upper and lower edges; very trivial. A beautiful, fully original cover.
