Description
Elvis Presley EPA-747 Sealed Picture Sleeve (no titles at top of front cover) and Vinyl (orange label).
Item is, as would be expected with an unopened item, as new. Should you have concern, white lines appearing in the upper left and along right edge are from the plastic wrapper seams.
In correspondence with an interested party, I was told there were two versions of records that used this sleeve. One issued in 1965 and another in 1969, the orange label. I am told the shrink would have been applied by the distributor or record shop and, if so, it would only be possible to tell which version is contained in this sleeve without having sighted before the shrink was applied, or otherwise opening. I purchased this record some 20 years ago from a dealer who presented it with the labels shown in the scans. I did not want to unseal it for verification and thus destroy the rare state of its' being a sealed copy. And, either version sealed would be satisfactory to me. But, I trusted the dealer who I did a lot of business, believing knew it as an orange label or would not have labeled it so.
There may also be a way of determining the date of issue by some variation in the production of the sleeve but I am unaware of that being a possibility. Otherwise, the item being 50 years old and given these circumstances, I can not absolutely verify the contents.
Problem here is that if the item is purchased, opened and found not to contain the orange label version, the opening will have greatly diminished the value of this mint item with either record. So, please bid only if you are comfortable with these circumstances. FYI, my cost was $275 in the year 2000.
