Recorded 9 July 1954 (track 1), 11-12 September 1954 (track 6), December 1954 (track 4), 3 February 1955 (track 5), 11 July 1955 (track 10), 24 August 1956 (track 8), 19 January 1957 (track 7), 2 May 1957 (tracks 2,3,9) ~ Australian release date: 1960 (US release date: September 1959).

 

On offer here is one of the CROWN JEWELS of any Australian ELVIS PRESLEY collection.  This ULTRA RARE FOLD-OUT CALENDAR cover version of ELVIS PRESLEY’s “A Date with Elvis” is an ORIGINAL FIRST AUSTRALIAN MONO ISSUE.

Cover:

front & back (including Calendar) VG++ matt finish with a beautiful appearance overall: minimal handling wear including light ring-wear, surface wear & creasing.

inside fold-out (including Telegram) matt finish, three pieces of tape along inner spine (one covering a 15mm seam split, centre); left: minimal handling wear including minor overall discolouration, one piece of tape (bottom-centre) that also extends to the front cover (VG+) ; right: shop price details written in pencil (top-right) (EX) ; Extra info: fragile cover looks highly impressive despite some light handling wear.

Record:

VG++ visual: beautiful glossy sheen—very clean overall.  However, there is an unsightly haze across part of side 2, which does not affect play in any way (side 1: EX, side 2: VG).  Examine digital pics closely ; audible: sounds superb (EX+) despite some occasional underlying surface noise; labels: moderate spindle wear.
