What you are bidding on is a superb, Mint condition, limited edition box set, issued by RCA in 2002 as “18 Number 1’s”, in 45 RPM 10” Vinyl format.
The first four discs were issued without cellophane covers, and collectors complained, so after that each disc was issued with a sealed cover.
The original idea was to make this a strictly limited edition release, and they had to be pre ordered. However, the demand was so great that RCA then began issueing the discs WITHOUT limited edition numbers on them, although they didn’t do this with the first 9 discs! However, by making the collection available to general release, they inadvertently ensured that the ones with limited edition numbers, were the most sought after, and that is what I am offering here.
Each disc has a limited edition number and each disc (apart from the first four) is sealed, and obviously never been played. As ever with collector’s items and numbers, the low ones are very sought after. The box they come in also has a limited edition number, and these are rare to find now. You will also see that there are TWO copies of Way Down and The Wonder of You. Each disc originally cost £4.99 and the box was £9.99 so give it a good go, because although these items are around, very few are absolute mint, as this is, and very few have limited edition numbers .
