Description

ELVIN JONES
Poly-Currents
LP

LOW start!.....NO Reserve!.....NO high priced ‘Buy It Now’!

Original Blue Note album from the Liberty era. Record in superb condition. One uber-feint line, hardly worth mentioning. 146g vinyl weight. Sleeve has the lightest of wear. Fine example of the late great drummer on this 47-year old album.

Review by Drum Magazine: “This is the classic Elvin album. If you only get one, get this. This music is not just about multiple meters. It’s beyond meter, harmony, and tight structures. There’s no piano on the date so many tunes seem to lack harmonic centers, relying on the bass to keep time and the horns to hint at chords. Jones is constantly shifting around the set letting the rhythms develop as Camero locks into him.”

Tenor Sax – George Coleman / Baritone Sax – Pepper Adams / Tenor Sax, Flute, English Horn – Joe Farrell / Flute – Fred Tompkins (tracks: B2) / Bass – Wilbur Little / Drums – Elvin Jones / Congas – Candido Camero // Recorded by – Rudy Van Gelder

This is a Vinyl record. Note that most vinyl may have a little faint 'crackle'. I describe them as best I can but be aware all records may have a very occasional background.
