Description

A classic and important issue - Elmore's first record under his own name (as Elmo!) recorded in August, 1951 with BoBo Thomas uncredited on the reverse who had been recorded in July ,1951. Elmore recorded no more material for Trumpet hence the reverse . Read all about the background in Marc Ryan's history of Trumpet Records and other sources. Sonny Boy Williamson adds his usual quality harp to this one. Top quality blues.

Note:  I was asked by one possible bidder to add shots of the full 78 so have done so although it is difficult to photograph records due to reflection etc. This is my best shot! You can see that the disc is clean with few marks etc if any. There is some slight wear/surface to the 'Broom' side as stated which may be visible but there are no pops or scratches of significance etc and the music plays through with no problems with Elmore's voice sharp and to the fore but there is some underlying surface. 'Catfish@ is cleaner with practically no signs of wear and plays loud and clear with practically no surface.  So, not a mint copy but not abused or juked. Any further queries contact me.
