In October 1982 a festival for electronic music was arranged cooperatively by the Swedish Radio Company(Sveriges Radio), the Electronic Music Studio(EMS) and the Culture house in Stockholm for the fourth consecutive year. The concert included works for tape alone, instruments and tape, live electronics and text-sound compositions. As in previous years, both recent and older works of Swedish and international composers were presented at the three well attended concerts. This record is a documentation of that festival. Are featured three swedish and two foreign composers. One can find inside this record Stanley Haynes' "Prisms for piano and tape", using material from an older pieces of Haynes for piano, filters and ring modulator. The piece was realized using the Music V and Music X sound synthesis languages at the IRCAM in Paris. Note that all sounds on the tape have been synthetically produced. Those which most closely resemble the live piano were produced by adapting an additive synthesis model of Jean-Claude Risset and a simulation using FM developed by William Schoettstaedt at Stanford university. Next comes "Rites of passage" of Anders Hillborg inspired by Carlos Castaneda's "The Teachings of Don Juan". It's a piece of electronic music generated using additive synthsis, in which the spectra of sound do not follow the natural overtone series. Later comes Ingvar Karkoff, a student of Gunnar Bucht and Par Lindgren with his "The Dogs" using 17 different sound-objects, recorded in the studio and modified in various ways. Then one can find Ilmar Laaban's "Chien d'absolu", a text sound composition in which more pre-recorded sound channels are combined with a live performance part, partly composed and partly improvised. Last is the well known avant-garde composer from Usa Charles Amirkhanian, one of the few americans into sound poetry(CRI, Giorno Poetry Systems, Henri Chopin's Revue OU) with his "Hypothetical Moments". Amirkhanian is known for his employment of a limited text material read rhythmically in different combinations and manipulated through tape.  A fantastic record, highly recommended!! Should be interesting for those into Bengt-Emil Johson, Lars-Gunnar Bodin, Folke Rabe, Sten Hanson, Ralph Lundsten and Sven-Erik Back, Leo Nilson, Jan Bark, Morthenson, Ake Hodell and of course John Cage, Pekka Airaksinen, Xenakis, Stockhausen and Ilhan Mimaroglu.

One of the most important sound documents from experimental electronic music. Sweden has been one of the pioneer countries in electronic music. The first electronic sound experiments of Rune Lindblad dated back to 1953 and feature a "self-ivented" form of musique concrete. Bengt Hambraeus realised his "Doppelohr II" in the Cologne Electronic Music Studios in 1955, Bo Nilsson also did an electronic score in 1957. Very important in this perspective is also Karl-Birger Blomdahl's space opera "Aniara" produced in 1959. Later came the experiments on this record.
