EDISON ELECTRIC 12 INCH PHONOGRAPH RECORD
RARE RARE RARE
This is a very rare 12 inch 40 minute electric phonograph record. This is an electrically recorded needle type record. The record is about a 1/4 inch thick(not quite) and the condition is very good +. Side 1 and 2 is Dinner Music by the Hotel Commodore Ensemble under the director of Bernhard Levitow. These records are very rare because Edison got into the electric phonograph business to late in the1920's. These never went over very good because Victor and Columbia dominated the record and phonograph market. Edison only made these records for a few years and discontinued making them in the waning phonograph period. These records are very fragile, so over the years very few have survived. Dont' miss this opportunity to have an important part of Edison's history for your collection.

I am adding additional information given to me by a fellow ebay member that has more information on this record. .
Just FYI...the Edison long plays are NOT electrically
recorded...they were acoustically dubbed from standard 10 inch
Edison diamond discs. One of the reasons they didn't catch on
was that they were not as loud and strident as the Victor and
Columbia early electrical recordings available at the time. I
collect Edison long plays and they are much better and louder
than all the phonograph histories lead one to expect. It's a
shame only 6 12 inch and 8 10 inch were ever released.
