A swoon inducing and sadly forgottten space rock masterpiece by these Canadian masters of the game that effortlessly shifts from sweeping and truly blasted sounding Floydian grandiosity to Benoit Widemann-like synthy zeuhl prog-funk only to yield to extended passages of ghostly lysergic atmospherics lacquered in female choral gliss and then spin on a dime and mindfuck you with maddeningly infectious Abba-by-way-of-Massiera anthemic pop prog screwiness. Monster caliber. Canadian outfit ECLIPSE was the creative vehicle of multi-instrumentalist and composer Pierre Gauthier, formed after his former band Aut'chose disbanded. Their initial self-titled album in 1976 consisted partially of space rock inspired by Pink Floyd and partially more mainstream-oriented works with much less of a progressive attitude. A somewhat split production in terms of style, but one that had a lot of promise
