Description
Released in 1969, Dusty in Memphis is the crowning achievement of British pop-soul icon Dusty Springfield. Seeking a transition into authentic American soul, Springfield traveled to American Sound Studio in Memphis to record with legendary producers Jerry Wexler, Arif Mardin, and Tom Dowd. Backed by the elite "Memphis Cats" studio band—including guitarist Reggie Young and bassist Tommy Cogbill—and armed with compositions from industry greats like Carole King, Gerry Goffin, and Randy Newman, Springfield crafted a timeless masterwork.
This near-mint copy is the definitive audiophile reissue from Analogue Productions (Catalog # APP 8214-45). Mastered directly from the original analog master tapes by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio and pressed on heavy 200-gram vinyl at Quality Record Pressings (QRP), this 45 RPM 2LP edition delivers unmatched soundstage depth, stunning dynamics, and breathtaking sonic clarity.
